Chris has practised law since 1985, joined Harmans in 1997 and was appointed a Partner in 2002. He leads our busy private client and estate administration teams that specialise in property law, business and commercial law, trusts, asset protection and estates.  

Chris has a down-to-earth, no nonsense approach advising his diverse client base on a broad range of legal matters that he specialises in. Chris has a particular interest in property, trust and elder law issues providing his clients with clear, easy to understand and pragmatic legal advice. 

Chris is a member of the Property Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society.

Some of Chris’ recent work/projects include:  
  • Acting for and advising trustees of large family trusts and estates.
  • Providing asset and creditor protection advice, including the establishment and administration of operating entities.
  • Acting for and advising client on the acquisition of a high profile business and related legal matters.  
  • Providing advice to trustees on the recovery of assets from overseas jurisdictions.
