Summer Clerk Opportunity at Harmans (November 2017 to February 2018)
The partners at Harmans are committed to our successful summer clerk programme. Over the summer the successful candidate(s) will work in each of our specialist teams so they are able to experience working in a variety of areas of the law.
Previous summer clerks have been involved in many different aspects of our business including reviewing contracts, attending client interviews, preparing memos and legal opinions, attending Court, drafting documents and working on trusts, estates and commercial transactions.
The objective is to provide our summer clerk(s) with a worthwhile and valuable working experience in a progressive firm which has served the Canterbury region for almost 130 years. As we value strong relationships with our clients, we are looking for a summer clerk who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
The successful candidate will be allocated a lawyer as a buddy to assist with the exciting new challenges associated with working in a busy legal office and to ensure maximum benefit is obtained from the experience. Harmans takes great pride in our summer clerk programme and previous summer clerks now occupy permanent roles within the firm at levels ranging from graduate lawyer to partner.
