Legal Executive gains 100% in exam

For the first time since computer records of results have been held, a student has gained 100% in one of the legal executive examinations. Stephanie Waterhouse gained this perfect pass in the Introduction to Law Office Practice paper towards the New Zealand Law Society Legal Executive Diploma.

Stephanie works at Harmans Lawyers in Christchurch, and Harmans partner Mark Sherry says the firm is “extremely proud” of Stephanie and pleased that she has attained such an outstanding result.

“She is already an extremely experienced legal assistant and she is using her studies to further cement her knowledge and introduce new ideas into the firm.

“She is a shining example of a person who does not just regurgitate what they are taught by rote, but rather she works hard to obtain a deep understanding of the topic she is studying so that she can use that information going forward,” Mr Sherry says.

As far as anyone can remember, no other student has matched this significant achievement in the 50-year history of the diploma. Computer records have been kept since 1991, and nobody in that time has achieved a 100% result.
