Catherine, preferred name Taff, graduated from Otago University in 2003 with an LLB and BA (Film and Media Studies) and first joined Harmans in January 2004 as a graduate solicitor.
Taff advises clients on asset protection structures, family trusts and property matters, both commercial and residential. She also has extensive experience with commercial and business transactions and in providing advice on appropriate business structures.
Taff lives in Lyttelton and is a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Business Association having spent her first 18 months of membership as a committee member. Taff has acted pro bono for a number of Lyttelton based societies and trusts recently being involved with setting up a new Charitable Trust for the Peninsula Art Auction.
Taff has young children and enjoys as much of her time as she can with her family visiting the local Lyttelton Saturday market, sailing on her family yacht “Hootie” in the Bay of Islands, watching films, reading and squeezing in the odd run for fitness to keep up with her small children.

Advising clients in relation to the sale and purchase of small to medium business including related shareholders agreements and issues;
Advising on the sale and purchase of “as-is-where-is” properties;
Advising in relation to the structuring of asset protection matters including forming and administering family trusts;
Advising and assisting a client with both the sale and purchase of a Fishing Vessel and Registered Ship;
Advising a number of lending institutions on commercial lending transactions and the structuring of securities.
