Phillipa leads the Senior’s Law team and also specialises in property, trusts and private client matters.
Phillipa joined Harmans in 2017 after working in two smaller general practices in Christchurch. Phillipa started her working life at the BNZ Papanui and after having her family, graduated from Canterbury University with a Batchelor of Laws with first class honours in 2004.
Phillipa offers a wide knowledge of property and elder law issues with her banking background of 15 years and general law practice of 13 years experience.
Phillipa provides advice on asset protection whether it is at the stage of buying your first home or on entering a new relationship or planning for your retirement.
Phillipa enjoys assisting clients through the important events in their lives and building relationships with them and their families. Phillipa has developed an expertise in elder law matters, guiding clients through the weight of paperwork that accompanies the move to a retirement village or setting up enduring power of attorney deeds.
Phillipa is a member of the Property Law Section and the Elder Law Special Interest Group.
Outside of work Phillipa has been involved with her parish at Hoon Hay as an area and parish councillor for over 10 years and remains on the finance committee. Phillipa enjoys spending time with her family and travelling or relaxing with walks and a good book.
