About

Shelly is an astute and ambitious Registered Legal Executive and has worked in the legal industry since 2018, having joined Harmans that year.

Shelly provides support to Amy Hyland in her busy private client law practice who specialises in property law, commercial law, trusts and asset protection. She works closely with the members of that team, particularly in conveyancing, wills, enduring powers of attorney and subdivisions. She is known for her ability to build strong working relationships with her clients by listening to them and making them feel comfortable while maintaining a professional but personable approach to all matters.

Shelly was awarded the New Zealand Law Society Legal Executive Diploma in 2020. She is an Affiliate Member of Legal Executives New Zealand and is committed to staying up to date with the latest developments in the legal industry.

Shelly’s dedication to the legal community is further highlighted by her appointment as the Membership Convenor and shared position of Publicity Convenor for the Legal Executives New Zealand – Canterbury Southern Districts Committee. In these roles, she is responsible for overseeing the membership of the Canterbury Southern Districts Branch, including tracking changes in employment, location and role. She also works closely with the national office to ensure accurate and up to date information for both the branch and national office.

Shelly’s unique background as a qualified automotive refinisher, for 9 years prior to working in law, has enabled her to make a valuable contribution to the community including assisting in the restoration of some of the city’s trams, through the Tramway Historic Society.
